After an amazing performance against the Rockets during game 5, Manu Ginobli let us in to his secret. The 39 year-old, told us that he’s been getting pumped listening to the new ‘Stadium Aracadium’ album by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. We asked him what he meant by new?
“You know, it just came out early this week. I love RHCP.” Manu told us. “You know, 28 might be a little old for this type of music, but I like to stay young.”
Clearly, Manu believes it is 2006. Coach Gregg Popovich weighed in on Manu’s delusional state.
“During training visits, we have been secretly hypnotizing Manu and convincing him that it is 2006 again,” Pop said. “I think that’s why he has been playing so well. Don’t tell him until the end of the playoffs though, okay?”
Not all his teammates are excited about the Coach’s decision to send him to the hypnotist.
“Someone needs to stop this madness!” exclaimed LaMarcus Aldridge. “I understand this is helping Manu play well, but he keeps quoting ‘Big Momma’s House 2’ and singing Coldplay. It makes me want to blow my brains out!”
The soon-to-be 40-year-old is playing better than ever and rocking the satin shirt with dog tags. What more could Spurs fans ask for?
