Basketball isn’t the only dream for Chicago Bulls guard, Michael Carter-Williams. During an interview on Thursday, Carter-Williams stated that he wants to pursue a career in Hollywood.
“I’ve had a lot of time on the bench to think about this, I mean, I think my talents are being wasted here in the NBA. I’ve talked to my agent and think it’s time for a career change.”
Disney has reached out to the Bulls guard in hopes of casting him in their new live-action remake of “A Goofy Movie.” Talent reps at Disney have stated that Carter-Williams has wonderful on-screen potential. When asked about Carter-Williams resemblance to the lead character, Max Goof, the talent rep responded.
“You know, I don’t really see the liking, but hey, with the amazing post-production technology and exquisite make-up, I think we can him a star.”
It has been rumored that Pauly Shore will rejoin the cast as Robert “Bobby” Zimmeruski and Gabriel Iglesias will play the role of Pete Junior. We caught up with Carter-Williams again on the bench.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I grew up watching these movies and I think my experience courtside will translate to the film industry.”
The Bulls organization sent out a short memo stating they didn’t know Carter-Williams was even still on the team, but wished him the best of luck.
